St. Ita's Vs Shelbourne.
Red army was on the move this morning. We assembled in St Ita’s Portrane. Pitch over looking Dublin bay was a beautiful sight to see. The red brick building on way in looked like something out ww2.
Shels with only the bare 7 warmed up in good spirits with the girls knowing how tough it can be with 7.
From the start Shels came out all guns blazing to stun our opposition.
Leah in goal didn’t have to much to do but she showed great awareness and led from the back with the ever present Jorja and Zoe. Across the middle Amelia Isabell Katie and Ava...
Within 10min we were 3 up with some lovely link up passes by Katie and Amelia and Isabell reaping the rewards.
Just before half time the Shels back two made an Ita’s player the meat in ham sambo.
Peno oh no!
Ita’s seized the moment and the took peno well but Leah O’Neill was waiting.
Leah pulled of a great save to go in at break 6-0
By half time game looked over.
Second half we swapped some of the players positions around. Ava made some fantastic tackles in midfield, did 3 in a row and was given out flying lessons.
Ita’s piled on pressure and got their reward with a very well taken goal - if not for our back 3 they may have got few more.
Amelia with Ava held strong our midfield with gruesome twosome of Katie and Isabelle bagging a brace each.
Shels progress to next round of cup.
